Christian Worldly Living

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sin is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. –Hebrews 10:26-27

I was talking to a friend today about how sad it is that there are people out there who claim to be Christians yet they live in sin. This is a topic that has been hard for me to write about because I was always concerned about people’s feelings. But what good am I doing if I ignore something that I know is wrong just because I don’t want to hurt feelings. Paul said it best when he said that he didn’t regret it if he caused the Corinthians sorrow by his letter, but he was happy that the sorrow led to repentance. (2 Corin. 7:8-9).

We really can’t claim to love Christ and say that we serve him if we continue to fornicate, lie, steal, kill, etc. We can’t continue to deliberately trample the Son of God, insult the Spirit of grace and cheapen the blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary for us. We all have moments of weakness when we sin, but the blood of Christ gives us second chances to repent. We may have to reap the consequences of our actions, but we are still forgiven (remember the story of David?) It is one thing to fall and get back up, but then it is a totally different thing to constantly live a life of sin. God said that you cannot serve two masters, you have to be hot or cold, not lukewarm or he will spit you out of his mouth (I pray that none of us ever suffer this fate)

If Christians could live in sin and still be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, then Christ’s death was in vain. He died to cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, SO THAT WE MAY SERVE THE LIVING GOD –Hebrews 9:15 He didn’t die so that we can continue to live in sin. So brethren, we need to take a good look at the lives that we live and make sure it is in line with God’s will. If you see a friend living in sin, talk to them about it because that is our duty as Christians. God has not given us the Spirit of fear, so we need to do what Paul did to the Corinthians and just do what needs to be done. I assure you that if that person is serious about his/her Christianity, they will appreciate you even more.

There comes a time in our lives when we have to do things for Christ that we are afraid to do. He died for our sins, nothing we can do can ever compare to that!

Stay blessed in the Lord and remember the less privileged
