Presenting Your Body As A living Sacrifice, Holy and Acceptable Unto God
Voice of Grace (Sunday Spiritual Menu Series)

Apostle Paul in his twelfth Epistle to the Romans admonished Christians to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God.
He was writing to a nation that was regarded as the Cathedral of Christian faith, the manifesto of Christianity, and, of course, a complete compendium of Christian doctrine.
He was writing to a people who believed that they were the heart of true Christianity.
The Oxford American dictionary defines sacrifice as:
The offered sacrificial lamb is slaughtered and burnt while the blood is sprinkled over the Mercy Seat. Once the lamb or goat has been offered to the Lord, it cannot be taken back again. It is an absolute surrender to God. So also, when you become a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto the Lord, you no longer own yourself. You are now a possession of God. Your body, Soul, and Spirit are now irrevocably surrendered to the Lord. You can no longer avenge any wrong or offence against you. God is now the avenger, for He owns you.
Evidently, through this admonition, Paul, the great apostle of old, makes believers to understand that to experience the most wonderful Messianic joy, favor, peace, and abundance that are in Christ Jesus, and to make the issue of our eternal salvation a certainty, demand more than worshipping God and keeping His commandments. It involves a total commitment and an absolute surrender or submission to God. All our daily decisions must be evaluated on the basis of biblical principles rather than intellectual judgment. It entails total dependence on God for guidance in all our daily routines. It calls for unquestioned obedience to God.
Because you are a living sacrifice unto God, you are now a spectacle to the world and the angels; a fool before the world, but wise in Christ, weak before men, but strong in Jesus, despised by the world, but honorable in Christ. 1 Cor. 4:9-10. You will be persecuted from all sides for sins not committed; rejected, cheated, abused, hated, and maligned for no just cause. As a living Sacrifice unto God, you now carry the shame and indignation of the Cross; the persecution of your innocence and condemnation of all your good intentions. Anyone who hates his fellow being without divine cause is an enemy of God.
As a holy and acceptable living Sacrifice unto God, your Soul should now be a fountain of jealous and selfish worship and service unto God, your Spirit should be a river of peace, forgiveness, love, and kindness, sharing out benevolently to the less privileged; and your body, a temple of God. Your body should no longer be a Vessel of sins sins of fornication, adultery, idolatry, evil thoughts, hatred, anger, malice, pride, lying, and covetousness. Let your voice be amiable and refreshing like the early morning dew, and let your responses be gracious. Avoid provocation and run away from unprofitable argument. If all these, with patience and faith, abound in you, ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
Your election shall be sure and ye shall not fall. 2 Peter 1: 5-10.
The price may seem outrageous, but the benefits of being a living sacrifice unto God are unquantifiable, and most extraordinary. The only living God whose righteousness is from eternity unto eternity and whose faithfulness is from everlasting unto everlasting hath said that your word shall be a decree which shall be established. I will give you rain in due season, and your land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruits. And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. Lev. 26.The righteous King of all kings hath saith that In righteousness shall thou be established; thou shall be far from oppression; for thou shall not fear any terror, for it shall not come near thee. -----------, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shall condemn. Is.54:13-17.
Why are these covenants still eluding you? God is ever faithful. He can never lie or deceive. You should re-examine your ways. Something is still wrong somewhere. Your obedience is still not total, your submission to God is still incomplete.
Acquaint yourself today with God, and be at peace with Him, thereby good shall come unto thee. If you make yourself a living sacrifice, and totally surrender yourself unto Him from today, the Almighty shall become your defense and thou shall have plenty of silver. Thou shall decree a thing and it shall be established. Thou shall forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away. Thy age shall be clearer than noonday and thou shall be as the morning.
